Building diagnostics requires a varied comprehensive knowledge not only of building practices, but of building systems such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and waste disposal, long term maintenance, the "ailments" that beset buildings due to poor design, construction, living habits of the occupants, and many other things that are not part of the expertise of any single building profession.
When Will You Receive Your Report?
For most residential properties, the report is designed to be issued immediately at the time of inspection, on-the-spot! For elaborate homes, multi-family dwellings, or commercial structures, a post-inspection office-generated report is usually required.
Should You Attend The Inspection?
The inspection is a valuable educational experience. To receive maximum benefit and receive the on-site written report, you are required to attend. Inspections take approximately 1 to 2 hours for a condo, 2 to 3 hours for an average size or priced home, and in excess of 3 hours for a larger, older and/or more complex home.
